Important: these maps were made for Darkest Hour Kaiserreich, and as such, represent pre 0.6 rework lore. Most notably, the Ukrainian, Polish and Italian borders have changed considerably since then. We hope to one day offer an updated HOI4 KR map!

The Matryoshka State: Maratha Princely States, 1936
This is the first of two more detailed maps I made after Europe and India. Made in 2016, I hoped to convey the complexity of the Princely Federation. In many ways, the former Bombay Presidency provided an apt illustration of the federal structure of Princely India. It had no single ruler like Mysore, Hyderabad or Travancore-Cochin, instead a Maratha council of princes took charge of executive business. The fact that many different princelings, zamindars and landlords governed their own domains led to the state being nicknamed the "Matryoshka State" by commentators in the rival successor governments of Delhi and Calcutta.
Make a statement in any room with this framed poster printed on high quality paper, with a partly glossy, partly matte finish.
• Alder, semi-hardwood frame

About the artist
As a kid, Vincent would get into trouble for drawing German tanks on math tests. After retiring from the Kaiserreich mod team, he set upon the task of bringing the mod's incredible lore to Youtube. From there, he built KCC - a collective of creators focused on making original alt-history content!
About Kaiser Cat Cinema
We are an international collective of writers, artists, actors and musicians - joined in their common love for the alt-history genre. The mission is simple: An alt-history show on every screen, an alt-history book in every store!
