'We Beat Them Once - We'll Beat Them Again!'

These posters were commonly posted in Macarthur's embattled Federalist cities during the early stages of the civil war. Several variants of this poster exist, each depicting either the Unionists or Syndicalists as traitors akin to the Confederates in the first civil war. The design fell out of favor during the later war years, however, as every side in the Civil War had begun reproducing similar posters with the same message.

For the Syndicalist variant of this poster, the Federalists and Unionists were most often likened to the British instead of the Confederates. The message there was that the other foreign-backed factions were imperialists in all but name, and victory over them would be as assured as during the American Revolutionary War.

Today, these three designs are often presented together in galleries and collections. When viewed side-by-side, they form a unique view of how each faction in the Second American Civil War appropriated and altered symbols from American history.
