That was the difference between a hero and a villain, a soldier and a murderer, a victory and a crime. Which side of a river you called home.”

WHAT IS AMERICAN KINGDOMS?
American Kingdoms (AK) is a wiki-first alt-history project built around one of the great 'What If' questions of worldbuilding: what if the United States of America had known a Medieval Age? It is, in short, our 'American Knights' pitch. Unlike our other projects, AK is a wiki-first project that focuses on lore and fan contributions to the worldbuilding.

The setting takes place around 1377 AD, with 13 dukes rising against their Anglo-Saxon overlords. The American Revolutionary War has begun, but it is not the 18th century one you know from the history books. It is armour, banners, castle sieges, and knights bearing stars-and-stripes shields riding into battle against Plantagenet lords.
THE NEW SITE
The new project site at american-kingdoms.com is built around a few core pillars. In this case, the new site features pinned wiki articles, shorts, making-of content, and more. It continues our mission of creating great content set in the big 'What If' questions of alt-history worldbuilding.

AMERICAN KINGDOMS SHORTS

One of the highlights of the new site is the Shorts section. These are bite-sized videos exploring the factions, lore, and collaborative worldbuilding of American Kingdoms. The first shorts are already live:
- Aztec Empire & Mayan - The major Mesoamerican powers and how they factor into the alt-history
- The Natives and First Nations - Indigenous factions and their role alongside the European settlers
- The Dragon Coast - Chinese exploration and its impact on the New World in 1377
You can watch all three (and more to come) over on the project site.
THE WIKI WORLD MAP (ALPHA)
As a special treat, the site now features the very first alpha of our 'Wiki World Map', which will later feature wiki nations and articles linked directly onto the map.

Right now the map shows the 13 duchies spread across the Eastern Seaboard as they stand at the outbreak of the American Revolutionary War in 1377. Each territory is distinct, and the plan is for every region on the map to eventually link out to full wiki articles covering their history, rulers, culture, and military. You can explore the alpha version at american-kingdoms.com/ak-map-alpha/.
JOIN THE SHARED FANTASY

American Kingdoms is designed from the ground up to be a collaborative project. If you are interested in participating in the shared fantasy of an 'American Medieval Age', the new site is where that happens. Write wiki articles, suggest lore, weigh in on factions, contribute to the worldbuilding. 😄
Check out the project at american-kingdoms.com and let us know what you think! Until then, I am your Belgian alt-history guy, signing off
