' Welcome to East Asia - The Berlin-Singapore Line'

The 'Welcome to East Asia' series of travel posters was commissioned by the 'Amt für Infrastruktur und Entwicklung in Südostasien' (Office for Infrastructure and Development in east-Asia) starting after the end of the war. With Germany's Pacific colonies secured, the Kaiserreich undertook great efforts to develop and link these holdings to the fatherland through commerce, tourism and infrastructure.

Airplane afficionados will immediately recognise the looming silhouette of the Blohm & Voss BV 238 in the background. In the second half of the 1940's, many military transport planes were sold to civilian service as Europe underwent a period of rapid demilitarisation. The BV 238 were originally used to ferry supplies and passengers to parts of the German Pacific that did not have air strips. This type of 'flying boat' was able to land on a calm ocean, meaning the BV 238 could use normal ports for loading and unloading. The Blohm & Voss planes would all be decommissioned by the early 1950's, as the rapid expansion of air strips made their use obsolete. Today, only one of these giants remains in the world - the sole surviving plane can be found in the Museum of Air Travel in Berlin.

The stamp on the bottom of this poster indicates the design is part of the original 1949 print series. The authenticity of this particular print run has become a matter of some debate however, and it is believed the entire '49 series may be counterfeit. This is because vintage travel posters like these have become valuable collector's items, many copies going at 1,500 Reichsmark or more.

After finishing his military series of propaganda posters, KCC founder Vincent is now setting his sights on civilian life! 'Welcome to East Asia' is the first of a planned series of posters for all major powers that focuses on politics, civilian life, art and media.

In his new collection, Vincent will paint things like travel posters, fake alt-history movie posters and various other designs inspired by KCC shows and the Kaiserreich mod.

About the artist

As a kid, Vincent would get into trouble for drawing German tanks on math tests. After retiring from the Kaiserreich mod team, he set upon the task of bringing the mod's incredible lore to Youtube. From there, he built KCC - a collective of creators focused on making original alt-history content!

About Kaiser Cat Cinema

We are an international collective of writers, artists, actors and musicians - joined in their common love for the alt-history genre. The mission is simple: An alt-history show on every screen, an alt-history book in every store!
